Here’s presenting Seven Media’s annual release of the Top Instagram Influencers of Sri Lanka.

From travel attractions to culinary variety and healthcare and fitness, Sri Lankans now never run out of topics to post about and hence there is a growing list of Instagram influencers in the island. Having ranked the Top 50 Instagram Influencers of 2020, we are back this year with the Top 50 Instagram Influencers of Sri Lanka in 2022.

NOMINATION MECHANISM

A survey was conducted among 500 participants who were asked to nominate any Instagram influencers they follow or know of. Users were also asked to vote on a post on our Instagram profile; this post garnered over 850 comments. All responses were compiled, documented and analyzed.

SELECTION METHODOLOGY

Celebrities including actors, popular musicians, and sports personalities who have gained a following through their celebrity status and not mainly through their Insta behavior and activity, as well as those influencers now based abroad have been omitted from the list.

SHORTLISTING METHODOLOGY

The 100 influencers with the most followers were shortlisted.

RANKING METHODOLOGY

The ranking was based on the engagements (views, reactions, comments) they receive on their posts.

HOW DID WE CALCULATE THIS?

1. We looked at over 100 influencers voted for through the survey and the comments.
2. We picked 30 posts from each quarter of the year (3 quarters in 2021)
3. We then took the total number of engagements from these 90 posts as their engagement score.
4. We arrived at our Top 50 based on the influencers who have the most engagement.
