TikTok or Instagram? The battle is on!

I’m pretty sure we’ve all heard of TikTok, the video-sharing social network used to create short lip-sync, comedy, and talent videos. And we’ve definitely heard of Instagram, the American social media app that allows users to share photos and videos from their lives, add captions, edit filters, engage with others, explore, creep and more. However, which app do you think is better and why?

Well, “I love TikTok; I’m a big fan”, was the statement made by Evan Spiegel, Co-Founder and CEO of Snap Inc at the annual Digital Life Design Conference held in Munich. This man has been in the industry for about 8 years now and he knows his social space well. He also says that there is a possibility that TikTok may grow bigger than Instagram. There must be a reason why he thinks this.

Is it because TikTok takes time, creativity and a lot of thought and effort into creating a video? Or because it targets and finds ways to reach new audience?

Instagram reached the 1 billion active user’s milestone in 2018, while TikTok is just behind Instagram in terms of monthly active users in 2019. Will 2020 be the year that TikTok defeats Instagram, or will Instagram make a comeback with something exciting and new?

We all know that change is inevitable. However, is there something that Instagram can do to safeguard their position as the world’s third largest social app? Well only time will tell and the time’s ticking for Instagram.
